Ò The Department of Physical Education was included in the statute of D.D.U. Gorakhpur University in the year 2014, as the 03rd department under Faculty of Education.

Ò Physical Education as an elective subject for the students at graduation level (B.A./B.Sc.) was included in the University curriculum in the session 2011-2012. Since then, 09batches of students with physical education as an elective subject have successfully passed out from university campus. The program of Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.)is currently being taught in 04 affiliated colleges, that is regulated by the Department of Physical Education.

Ò Due to increased demand of post graduate program in physical education, the program of M.A. in Physical Education under self-finance scheme was started in the session 2021-2022.

Ò The program of Ph.D. in Physical Education has also been started in 2019.

Ò Presently all these program are running successfully in CBCS pattern.
